WIRRA WIRRA
Wirra Wirra is an aboriginal name meaning "amongst the gum trees". The McLaren Vale winery was established by Robert Strangways Wigley, a former state cricketer and well known eccentric. Following his death in 1924 the vineyards were sold by his family and the cellars fell into disuse. It remained that way until 1969 when the site was bought by cousins Greg and Roger Trott whom transformed it into the iconic McLaren Vale winery that it is today. "Trott" did this all in his own inimitable style - always passionate, always iconoclastic, always fun and always unique.
